About Army Public School

Army School, Tibri was established in July 1991 with classes upto V standard at NCO’s institute and was upgraded to Class X in April, 1998. The school was shifted to re-appropriated MES building in July, 1998. Class XII was added to it from 1st July, 2003. The school shifted to its new building in Nov, 2009 and got the status of Army Public School. The new building was formally inaugurated by Lt Gen Ramesh Halgali, SM GOC 11 CORPS on 11th May, 2010. It is spread over an area of 24 acres and cater for 2500 students. The sprawling campus has an aesthetic layout with lush green lawns. Modernized and progressive educational technology has been installed to help the students attain their optimum academic potential and to train them to become achievers in life. Besides academic excellence, adequate emphasis is also laid on personality development and character building.

The school has spacious and airy classrooms, well equipped Science Labs, fully furnished Computer Labs, Maths Lab, Interactive English Language Lab, Social Science Room and Art & Craft Room. A well stocked Library, Audio-Visual Rooms, Video Projection Systems in Classrooms, Multi-purpose Auditorium and ampel Sports facilities also provide opportunities to children to develop an all round personality. Teachers’ Resource Centre, Conference Room and Centralized Audio system are added facilities to groom the faculty also.

The school is managed as per the guidelines laid by the Army Welfare Education Society. School Management Committee monitors and ensures that the objectives and aims laid down are implemented in a planned and efficient manner. The management committee comprises senior officers with the GOC 15 Inf Div as the Patron, Cdr 96 Inf Bde as the Chairman and the Principal of the school as the Secretory. The committee also has representation from units, school staff and parents of students besides educationists from local institutions.

Admission Policy

Admission to various classes starts at beginning of academic session in March/April each year. Admission Tests are held in Feb. and April followed by an interview. Transfer cases of defence personnel are being admitted round the year. No defence child is denied admission.

Streams available in school are Science (Medical/Non-medical) and Commerce.
